Participate in collaborations

Participating in collaborations is what TakeTurns is all about. In this section, we provide details about how to participate, the various roles of participants, and everything that can be done to collaborate turn-by-turn.

The view of your collaboration screen changes depending on if it’s your turn or the other party’s turn.

When it’s your turn

Above is an image of the Collaboration Detail screen when it’s your turn. To help you understand this screen, we’ve annotated the image with callouts (the blue numbered circles) to describe the key components of the screen.

The key components are:

  1. Main menu - Where you’ll find access to views and help

  2. Pending Invitations - How many pending invitations do you have?

  3. Avatar - Where you can update your profile, language preferences, and subscription

  4. Collaboration header - Shows the collaboration name, parties, deadline, and participants.

  5. Turn History - Or what happened previously in this collaboration. Notice that there is an orange dot in that shows both the current turn (six) and that it’s your turn.

  6. Turn content

    1. Action area - including buttons for sending updates (ending your turn) and wrapping up (ending the collaboration)

    2. Turn Note - Message from the other party, written to your party at the end of the last turn

    3. Content pane/area - This is where you see all the files, folders, and requests

  7. Sidebar - With additional features such as chat

  8. Collaboration toolbar - The buttons enable you to add content (files, folders, and requests), download all the files, manage content, or change the content view.
