Accept Invitations

Leaders add participants to the collaboration through the invitation process. When a leader invites you to join a collaboration, you receive an email invitation. Accepting that invitation is how you join the collaboration.

There are multiple ways to accept an invitation:

Accept via the Invitation Email

Everyone invited to a collaboration receives an email. In that email, simply click the Join the collaboration button, and you’ll join the collaboration. However, depending on the existence of an account and its current status, different things could happen:

If you have a TakeTurns account and …
- Have a live session; you’ll be directed to the collaboration
- Do not have a live session; you’ll be directed to Sign in. After sign-in, you’ll be directed to the collaboration.
If you do not have a TakeTurns account,
- You can access TakeTurns without a password, TakeTurns will send a verification code by email
- You can sign up with your email address or through a service; learn about signing up.

❗️ Important

In order to access a collaboration, you need to sign in with the email that was used to invite you. If you sign up for a new TakeTurns account, use the email address that was used to invite you to the collaboration

Accept via the pending invitations view

Pending invitations will appear on your collaboration list. Select the Pending invitations view from the dropdown to see only the collaborations with pending invitations. From that view, you can accept an invitation using the Accept invitation button.

If you have pending invitations, TakeTurns will list the total number in the upper right-hand corner. When you click on the text, TakeTurns will automatically navigate to the pending invitations view. From that view, you can accept an invitation using the Accept invitation button.

Passwordless acceptance of an invitation

TakeTurns supports passwordless logins. Instead of setting a password, TakeTurns will send you a code each time you want to access the collaboration.

To access TakeTurns:

Find the invite notification email and simply click the yellow button. It will be labeled “Join the Collaboration”

To access TakeTurns, click on the “Join Collaboration Button”

On the landing page click the button “Send verification code”
Look for the email entitled “Your TakeTurns one-time code”

4. Fill in the registers with code you received and you will gain access to the collaboration
