Participant roles
Each participant in a TakeTurns Flow has a role that gives them specific permissions. There are four roles: Leader, Contributor, Follower, and Ghost.
💡 Tip |
In this user guide, when describing features we indicate what role can use it by using the following tags: LEADER CONTRIBUTOR FOLLOWER GHOST |
Roles in TakeTurns
Leader
Available in plans | FREE INVITEE STARTER PLUS ULTIMATE |
The leader has the most permissions. There is at least one leader for each party. Only leaders can submit updates or manage participants. While any leader can reopen a closed Flow, only leaders from the party that created the Flow can wrap-up, or close the flow.
When you create a Flow, your role is set to leader for your party by default. When you invite people in the other party, make sure to set at least one of the participants as Leader.
Contributor
Available in plans | FREE INVITEE STARTER PLUS ULTIMATE |
A contributor can add or update content in a Flow but cannot send updates, manage participants, or close the Flow.
Follower
Available in plans | FREE INVITEE STARTER PLUS ULTIMATE |
A follower can only view the content of a Flow or chat with participants but cannot make any changes to content.
Ghost
Available in plans | PLUS ULTIMATE |
Ghost participants are visible to their party, but invisible to the other party. The ghost has the same permissions as a follower, except they cannot chat.
Permissions by role
We break out the permissions by role in the table beneath. Use the links to go to the relevant help article on each feature.
